This article talks about beauty. It says that the average american husband spends 32 minutes getting ready and the average american women spends 44 minutes. We spend a lot of money enhancing our appearance.
Nowadays people is more interested in physical appearance. One example is when the Chinese producers of the 2008 Summer Olympics put a cute nine year old girl to lip-sync the singing of a less attractive girl. Another example is Susan Boyle, that has a beautiful voice but she is not that attractive.
A telephone survey in the United States said that more people reported having discrimination based on their appearance than discrimination based on their ethnicity.
It also says that the appearance of people can give them better jobs and better positions.
I think that physical appearance is not that important. The important thing is to have values and be educated.
